Ginger Boy located in Melbourne CBD is a small restaurant that serves south-east style street food. It’s one of the best south-east Asian fusion restaurants in Melbourne and definitely one of many restaurants that you need to visit.
My husband ( Mr picky) and myself, well that’s his nickname at home, have a date night every month sometimes even twice a month, where we would have dinner at a restaurant in the city. we live a bit far away from the city and we both work in the city, so we finish work on Friday and go on a date night to different restaurants and, this restaurant was one of them.
Ginger Boy restaurant menu
We ordered 5 dishes in total:
Son in law eggs – This was very flavourful, soft boiled egg served with a chilli jam. the sweetness of the chilli jam blends very well with the richness of the soft boiled egg yolk.
Wagu beef striploin with mushroom and charred capsicum, The dish was very flavourful, but for the price, it was a small tiny steak which was disappointing
Salt and pepper chicken spare ribs with Korean BBQ sauce – it was crunchy and the glaze was sticky and very tasty
Lobster roll – This was a soft brioche roll stuffed with fried lobster, Loved the flavour of it
Fried miso eggplant – Lovely accompaniment and side dish
All in all lovely restaurant and delicious food, the cocktails were great as well.
We paid around $160 for two people with alcohol beverages.
